What magnesium does

Four things we can
actually stand behind.

At 100mg per stick, the magnesium is above the level UK law requires before these can be stated. Each one is tied to magnesium specifically.

Tiredness & fatigue

Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Muscle function

Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function.

Energy metabolism

Magnesium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.

Electrolyte balance

Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance.

These are the authorised wordings. We do not make claims for taurine, because none are authorised in the UK — we simply tell you how much is in there.

Who it is for

Not a sports drink.
A daily one.

Most days do not involve a start line. They involve a school run, a ward round, a roof in July, or simply not drinking enough since breakfast.

The sodium system

Two sodium sources,
not one.

You lose electrolytes whenever you sweat — in a heatwave, on a shift, or halfway up a hill. We use two sodium sources rather than one, because they bring different things.

  • Pink Himalayan salt — 425mg sodiumUnrefined rock salt, milled fine. It also brings 653mg of chloride and the trace minerals from the seam it is cut from.
  • Sodium citrate — 325mg sodiumDissolves readily and buffers the citric acid, which is what stops the drink tasting sharp or briny.
  • Citrate electrolytes throughoutPotassium and magnesium are both citrate rather than the cheaper oxide forms, which do not mix cleanly in cold water.

How to use it

Three steps. Takes about ten seconds.

Tear

Open one stick at the notch. One a day is the recommended dose — do not exceed it.

Pour

Empty it into 500ml of water. Bottle, glass or the mug on your desk, it makes no difference.

Shake

Stir until fully dissolved. Nice chilled, and drink it within 24 hours of mixing.

The bee

Why there is
a bee on it.

It is Manchester's emblem, and it has stood for the same idea here since 1842 — the people doing the work rather than the people taking the credit.

Turn up, do the work, be ready for whatever the day asks of you. That is the whole thing, and it is why we dose the formula the way we do and charge what we charge.

Fifteen sticks.
Twelve pounds.

Two flavours at launch, one formula behind both. Zero sugar, sweetened with stevia, and no reason to save it for a training day. Join the list and we will tell you when the first run lands.
